Started in 2023, Brookfield quickly became a rider favorite! Near 180 degree turns and a long straightaway to the finish = surge-filled races and epic breakaways.

Races begin at about 10:30 a.m. and will end around 8:30 p.m., but the racecourse streets (see the map below) will be off limits to vehicles beginning at 7 a.m. on July 22. The Prairie Avenue grade crossing will be closed for the duration of the event, but streets will reopen as quickly as possible following the final race.
The start/finish line is in downtown Brookfield in the 3700 block of Grand Boulevard, where crowds ought to make for a party atmosphere.
There will be a business/vendor expo area on Brookfield Avenue immediately east of Prairie Avenue where there will be food trucks and live entertainment.

Cycle Brookfield is bringing competitive cycling to Brookfield with the Cycle Brookfield Criterium. As part of the Chicago Grit, the Cycle Brookfield Criterium is a one-day, all day event expected to welcome upwards of 1,000 amateur and professional cyclists, and race fans from around the world to Brookfield on Wednesday, July 22, 2026. Location
The Cycle Brookfield '26 Criterium returns to the Original "B" Course used in 2023 and 2024! The Start and finish are on Grand Avenue between Grant Avenue and Fairview Avenue.

Volunteer
Cycle Brookfield is seeking volunteers to assist as course marshals to ensure the safety of spectators and direct pedestrian crossing points. We will need 20 volunteers per shift.
There will be a volunteer orientation meeting at the Compassion Factory, July 15 at 6:00pm.
When: Wednesday, July 22, 2026 (Starting at 10:00AM, ending @8:30PM)
Where: Volunteers will meet at the volunteer tent on the day of the event to receive assignments and pick up their T-shirt.

- Drinks and snacks (Graciously donated by the Compassion United Methodist Church)
Additional Details:
Dress comfortably with khaki or black pants or shorts, and as appropriate for the weather. As needed, volunteers may be asked to stand for prolonged periods of time. Volunteers must be 16+ years old. All volunteers will be asked to sign a waiver prior to the race day.
Special thanks to the Brookfield Women's Club of Illinois for organizing the volunteer efforts. Also, refreshments for volunteers are provided by The Compassion Factory.

Cycle Brookfield will be providing bicycle valet parking at the Library Parking lot. We encourage everyone to ride their bike to the event and park your bike for free while you watch the event.
